LOWRIE, MAYOR OF PITTSBURGH, C. 1837: OIL/Canvas, 30'' x 25'', no visible signature, encased in carved and gilded wood frame, 38'' x 32''. Lowrie was elected Mayor of Pittsburgh in 1830, and is also credited with modernizing the fire department.
CONDITION: Recently restored to Museum quality, several areas of inpaint visible with blacklight, relined.
