217 | MODEL 1841 REMINGTON MISSISSIPPI RIFLE: .54 caliber with traces of Remington Herkimer stamp on lockplate, US 1853 stamp clear. 33'' barrel held in by 2 brass barrel bands held by spring. Brass patchbox and buttplate, walnut stock. Incorrect but period cleaning rod. Previous owners initials TE crudely carved into stock, possible soldier who carried this rifle. The rifles were known to be carried by Confederate soldiers as well. 49 1/4'' overall. CONDITION: One band spring not functioning, repair to stock at tang, trigger loose but functions, typical scratches and dings for this wartime example. |

CONDITION: Note alligatoring to stock, no cleaning rod, o carrying ring, typical scratches and dings to be expected. |
