Beato to include Temple of Luxor, Temple of Karnak, Sphinx and Pyramid of Cheops, Colassi of Memnon, Wall with Pharaoh and Hieroglyphics at Luxor. Each photo sight size approx. 14 1/2'' x 10 1/2'' with variance between photo's. All affixed to cards, larges card 12'' x 16''. Also sold with lot is 2 albumen photo's attributed to Beato, unsigned, one of the Avenue of Krio Sphinxes, other of a expedition party in front of a pyramid. These pieces were acquired in a 1901 expedition to the Mid East that lasted 111 days. CONDITION: Note fading, several have spots, expedition photo has tear and tape damage. |

The design and the colors all come together to create a piece of art that you will appreciate more every time you look at it. The well drawn medallion of soft peachy-rust sits like a jewel on a softly variegated blue open field that has four corners of the same colors as the medallion. And all is framed by three borders, the two guard ones using a traditional flower and vine motifs and the central border is also flowers and leaves.
