108 Click for larger picture NINETEENTH CENTURY OIL ON CANVAS LANDSCAPE AFTER ANDRAS MARKO: 27'' x 21 5/8'', scene depicts a River Shoreline with Mountains in the Distance, spuriously signed lower left, encased in a regilded gesso frame with wear, 34'' x 29''.
CONDITION: Relined, scattered inpaint with repairs to punctures.

110 Click for larger picture WENDING, Erwin, (American, 1900-1993): Modernist Tabletop Floral Still Life, Oil/Canvas, 26'' x 20'', signed lower left, period painted barnwood frame, 37'' x 30 1/2''. Born in Freiberg. In 1937, following the completion of his studies at the Dresden Art Academy, he immigrated to the Land of Israel. In 1939, he traveled to Paris to study at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Following the German occupation in June 1940, he fled to London, where he received a grant to study at the St. Martin's School of Art. In 1947, he immigrated to New York. His works have been displayed in numerous exhibitions in England and the United States. (From Virtues of Memory, 6 decades of Holocaust Survivors' Creativity, website).
CONDITION: Scattered paint fleck, cracklure.

CONDITION: Creases from rolling the paper evident in the margins, most notably the left margin. There is a handling crease in the upper margin, and a pinhole in the upper left corner.
