1253A Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN KERMAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 7'11'' x 9'6'': This pretty rug has the more desirable overall pattern found in quality Kerman rugs. There is a central medallion but it is surrounded by an ivory field that is covered with sprays of flowers done in shades of blue, green, pink, beige, and black. The corners and middle of the sides of the field of the rug are scalloped and motifs from the field go in the border. This broken border is an asset to the overall look of the rug and shows the complexity of the design. Condition is good. 1100

Because of the more level terrain, Florida water mills used a small turbine, sometimes made of wood instead of the big ''overshot'' wheels so familiar further north.''

OLD PERSIAN MAHAL OR HERIZ HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'3'' x 10'6'': This old Persian rug has an overall pattern of palmettes, leaves, and vines that come together to form open medallions on the red-orange background. The white ground main border has a design with palmettes divided by large leaves done in the colors that are also in the field.
CONDITION: There is a stain at one ends corner of the field and the rug has been re-dyed in many places to rejuvenate it.

OLD MOROCCAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3' 5'' X 9' 6'': This brightly colored rug has a red field that is divided down the center by a red band that is like the outer borders of the rug. The two sides are covered with rows of small geometric flower forms with different color combinations in each row. The central band and the borders have small botehs or paisleys. This is another rug type that decorators like to use with more modern styles. Condition is good. 250

1291A Click for larger picture INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4' x 6': This rug has a striking appearance not only because of the strong contrast in colors, but also because of the placement or structure of the design. The central field has a deep blue-black ground with a row of palmettes in alternating shapes. On either side of these are large flower heads that are surrounded by large leaves that almost look like they are swirling around them. The main border of the rug's ivory ground frames the field in a dramatic fashion. Condition is good. 225

1300 Click for larger picture INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, APPROX.45-75 YR. OLD, 10'4'' x 13'8'': This rug has an extremely busy field that has a large central rounded medallion with a flower petal edge and spandrels hanging from either end. This rug looks like an Ardebil pattern rug with a look of a very old rug. There is a lot of abrash, or color change in the colors of the field but it doesn't detract from the look of the rug.
CONDITION: There is some old moth damage and some wear but it is still a good-looking rug.
