1224 | APPROX 35-45 YR OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'4'' x 11'5'': This rug has an overall design that has been used in the Tabriz area but it isn't the very fine knotting that is found on most rugs from that area. However, the design is very well executed to make this a lively and interesting rug that would add to the beauty of any home. There is a blue ground central medallion with a red and white center and accents of greens, pink, beige, and peach that lies on a red field. Sprays of flowers and leaves radiate out from the medallion done in the same colors. The corners of the field are composed of bands of patterns; flower-heads, X's, barber pole stripes; on backgrounds of white, blue, yellow, etc. that add to the charm of this rug.
