1051 Click for larger picture RENOIR, Pierre-Auguste, (French, 1841-1919): ''Enfants Jouant a la Balle'', Color Lithograph, 35.5'' x 24.5'' with margins, signed in the plate lower right, on Ingres d'Arches paper with MBM watermark on both vertical margins, framed, 38.5'' x 33.5''. Edition of 200 printed by Auguste Clot, published by Ambrose Vollard, one of only 4 color prints by Renoir. This is widely recognized as being his best print.
CONDITION: Some pale scattered toning, handling crease in right margin, tape residue verso, pinhole in lower mid margin of image, sold as is.

As the adopted son of a mariner, Franklin went on many voyages to Europe, the West Indies and South America. His self-taught style lent itself to the detailed maritime paintings he is known for.
CONDITION: Frame has wear and missing gesso. Painting needs cleaning, craquelure throughout, several minor abrasions with flecks of loss. Sold as is
