MODERN INDO PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED MERCERIZED COTTON RUG, 5' 8'' x 7' 5'': This very finely woven Tabriz pattern rug has a soft palette of colors of shades of blue, beige, and pale yellow on an ivory field. The beige and blues oval medallion in the center of the field is surrounded by a myriad of leaves and sprays of flowers linked by vines that cover the field. The same colors are employed in them and in the six guard borders and the central border. The fineness of the weave shows through in the clarity and beauty of the rug. Condition is very good. | 550 |

PERSIAN HAMADAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUNNER, 3' 2'' X 17' 2'': This semi-antique (60-80yrs old) Hamadan runner is extremely long , yet it is straight and not bowed as so many runners tend to be. The field is a deep pink and is covered with a central row of larger flowerheads or palmettes the have other smaller leaves vines and flowers radiating out from them. The colors used are orange, medium and dark blue, ivory, beige, and yellow. The borders are small and give the effect of being a continuation of the field with only the interruption of lines to delineate them. Although this rug was used on a staircase, it doesn't show uneven wear and could find new life in a long hall or as a device to divide a large room. CONDITION: Good condition with one area of the side that needs some repair. |
