51 Click for larger picture IMPORTANT MARTIN-GUILLAUME BIENNAIS TEA BOX: Signed on lockplate Biennais, au Singe Violet a Paris. Martin-Guillaume Biennais was the silversmith, sword maker and cabinet maker to Napoleon, a similar example to this box made for Napoleon has been on display at the Louvre, currently part of a traveling exhibit. Mahogany with brass accents and hardware, key and locking mechanism still functional. Compartmented tray fits snugly. Measures 6'' x 15'' x 9 1/2''.
CONDITION: Note splits interior tray, repair to insert, age cracks and scratches to exterior.
