OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4' 1'' x 6' 6'': This rug has a bold geometric pattern of three diamond shaped medallions done in colors of orange, blue, cranberry, pink, black, and white on a red ground field. The four corners of the field have the same cranberry color that is found in the central medallion of the field. The outer stripe that frames the field is a saw tooth design in orange and blue and next to that is the white ground border that has a repeating pattern of a stylized flower head done in each of the colors found in the center of the rug. CONDITION: There is some color bleed that is more visible on the white border, but otherwise good. |

The rest of the colors that make up the sprays of flowers that cover the field are soft, blues, pinks, green, and beiges. The square size of this rug makes it a rarer find than most Kermans. There are a series of small guard borders and a main border whose design motif is like those found on a Seraband Persian rug. This would make a good bedroom rug with its soothing palette.
