CONDITION: In need of re-wiring for safety.

Single socket fixture, ring shade support with crystal prism drops. Measures 19 1/2'' h. x 8 1/2''. Frosted and clear cut glass shade, 7 1/2'' h. x 11'' dia, fitter rim 8'', clear chimney.
CONDITION: Uneven finish and loss of silverplate.

Green cloth covers with embossed illustration and writing, embossed spine. 8 3/4'' x 7''.
CONDITION: Corner rubs and edge wear, minor stains on cover, owners name dated 1885 in pencil front page, minor finger smudges on a page or two.

Plates from the natural world to include unique fish, lamprey, crabs, sea urchins, sand dollars, starfish, sea mollusks, bivalves, insects, moths, butterflies, fold out of louse, 2 page flea, corals, and sponges. Description of each plate in front of book in French. Embossed cover, 16'' x 10 1/4''.
CONDITION: Splits at spine, wear to covers, pages with moisture ''wobbles'', slight toning.

1006 Click for larger picture 1790 NEW YORK CITY MAYOR RICHARD VARICK SIGNED TAVERN & LIQUOR LICENSE DOCUMENT: From the original 1997, Early American History Auctions catalog: ''Document signed ''Rich. Varick'' as Mayor of New York, March 4, 1790, New York, 13'' x 8 1/2'', partly printed and accomplished in manuscript. A license issued to Hercules Wendover to maintain an inn or tavern in his home for one year. Not permitted is ''any Cock-fighting, Gaming, or Playing with Cards or Dice...'' The document is framed in a light wooden frame. Varick was Benedict Arnold's and Washington's personal secretary. Washington trusted him so much even after Arnold's treason that Varick transcribed all of Washington's papers.'' Framed 13 1/4'' x 8 3/4''.
CONDITION: Some toning at folds and down left margin, also with separation at folds, all well away from Varick's signature, not examined out of frame.

The 18 turquoise stones are well matched in color and each is set upon a squash blossom accented with richly burnished beads. Ray is renowned Navajo artisan whose pieces can sell for thousands of dollars. This piece measures 24'' in length, total weight 132.4 grams, and the traditional Naja crescent measures 2''H x 2.5''W, also accented with beautiful turquoise. 350
1012 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-35 YR OLD CHINESE AUBUSSON DESIGN WOOL NEEDLEPOINT RUG, 8' X 10': This lovely French Aubusson design rug has an oval shaped main field around a round ''outline'' medallion. The field and its corners are outlined by red, beige, and ivory bands. The corners have sprays of realistically drawn flowers with a white ribbon. More of the flowers appear in the medallion and center of the rug, alternating with yellow and beige vines.
CONDITION: Condition is good with some slight soil but on surface.

The solid blue velvety looking field is striking, the border panels are where the whimsy appears. Each panel has different designs that include goats, deer, men, women, trees, and birds in flight. The colors used in the panels include red, yellow, green and pale blue. A neat rug.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.

A row of different geometric shaped medallions runs down the center of the brick red field. The medallions and the field itself are all outlined in white. This accentuates both the designs and the other colors used. These colors include blue, pink, black, green, and yellow.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.
