1006 Click for larger picture 1790 NEW YORK CITY MAYOR RICHARD VARICK SIGNED TAVERN & LIQUOR LICENSE DOCUMENT: From the original 1997 Early American History Auctions catalog: ''Document signed ''Rich. Varick'' as Mayor of New York, March 4, 1790, New York, 13'' x 8 1/2'', partly printed and accomplished in manuscript. A license issued to Hercules Wendover to maintain an inn or tavern in his home for one year. Not permitted is ''any Cock-fighting, Gaming, or Playing with Cards or Dice...'' The document is framed in a light wooden frame. Varick was Benedict Arnold's and Washington's personal secretary. Washington trusted him so much even after Arnold's treason that Varick transcribed all of Washington's papers.'' Framed 13 1/4'' x 8 3/4''.
CONDITION: Some toning at folds and down left margin, also with separation at folds, all well away from Varick's signature, not examined out of frame.

1011 Click for larger picture NAVAJO STERLING & TURQUOISE SQUASH BLOSSOM NECKLACE: Signed Ray Bennett, this necklace is styled in his unique version of a squash blossom. The 18 turquoise stones are well matched in color and each is set upon a squash blossom accented with richly burnished beads.. Ray is renowned Navajo artisan whose pieces can sell for thousands of dollars. This piece measures 24'' in length, total weight 132.4 grams, and the traditional naja crescent measures 2''H x 2.5''W, also accented with beautiful turquoise.
1012 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-35 YR OLD CHINESE AUBUSSON DESIGN WOOL NEEDLEPOINT RUG, 8' X 10': This lovely French Aubusson design rug has an oval shaped main field around a round ''outline'' medallion. The field and its corners are outlined by red, beige, and ivory bands. The corners have sprays of realistically drawn flowers with a white ribbon. More of the flowers appear in the medallion and center of the rug, alternating with yellow and beige vines.
CONDITION: Condition is good with some slight soil but on surface.
1013 Click for larger picture 14K 4 STATION PEARL & GARNET BRACELET WITH EARRINGS: Vintage 4 station 3 strand bracelet with large garnets at each station set in 14K. 3 strands of small grey pearls separate each station to form this 6.5'' bracelet. Garnet earrings match the size and style of each station. Both bracelet and earrings are marked 14K.

1017 Click for larger picture APPROX. 15-30 YR OLD PAKISTANI TURKISH HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5'2'' X 8'6'': This pretty rug is both striking and whimsical in its appearance. The solid blue velvety looking field is striking, the border panels are where the whimsy appears. Each panel has different designs that include goats, deer, men, women, trees, and birds in flight. The colors used in the panels include red, yellow, green and pale blue. A neat rug.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.

1035 Click for larger picture 19TH CENTURY RENAISSANCE REVIVAL GILT PIER MIRROR: Giltwood frame with carved and applied accents. Center crest with spread wing eagle, seated musicians and foliate scroll, stepped pediment over carved geometric and floral decorations. Fluted side columns with acanthus leaf tops, base with matching decoration. Center of base with shelf over turned front legs. Overall approx. 107'' h. x 36'' x 12''.
CONDITION: Wear and loss to gilt, flaking to mirror.
1036 Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN KERMAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL PALACE SIZED RUG, 14'7'' X 24'9'': This lovely old Kerman has the desirable overall pattern filling up the field around a blue diamond shaped medallion. The sprays and vases of flowers over the ivory field are done in colors that include pistachio green, pinks, blues, and beige. The ''broken'' borders are done in the same colors and the edge curves in and out of the field. This is a beautiful classic Persian rug that would make a real statement of elegance in your home.
CONDITION: There is some shading, some slight stains and the fringe is worn but none of these things detract from the beauty of this rug. Shippers note approx. 238 lbs.

1046 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-40 YR OLD PERSIAN KARAJA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUNNER, 3'2'' X 16': This long runner has the traditional design of a weaving from Karaja. A row of different geometric shaped medallions runs down the center of the brick red field. The medallions and the field itself are all outlined in white. This accentuates both the designs and the other colors used. These colors include blue, pink, black, green, and yellow.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.
