Only 6,496 of these rifles were produced, this is serial number 1574. 2 line colt address on top of rapid tapered barrel with last patent date of '87. Nickel plated Schuetzen buttplate on walnut stock. Areas of original case color remain in protected areas, balance of finish mottled between plum brown and grey. Action works fine, clean bore. SEMI-ANTIQUE NORTH WEST PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3' 3''x 6' 3'': This strikingly designed rug has a black ground field that is covered with rows of flowering trees in colors of rust, aqua and medium blue, peach, and white. The contrast of the design in these colors is one of the things that make this rug so attractive. Another is that the main border has a motif of turtles executed in the same colors as those found in the field of the rug. These turtles have been placed on a white ground that is separated by a geometric design that encapsulates each turtle. The guard borders of ''barber pole'' rust and white and the other small borders with their flower heads and vines are like those seen in Caucasian rugs. This is probably a Kurdish Persian rug, a compilation of the good features of several different types of rugs. CONDITION: There is an old latex patch that is only visible from the back of the rug. Also the ends are frayed and need overcasting. |
