ESTATE LOT OF TWO ANTIQUE WOOL RUGS: To include, 1) ANTIQUE TURKOMAN TORBA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3' 4'' x 5' 5''. This antique rug has the traditional colors of rugs from this region; midnight blue, white, and a salmon red. But it has an unusual design. There is a central row of three guls, on either side of the guls are zig-zag stripes in the three colors of the rug. There is a simple border around the field with a small extra apron at one end. This rug is worn and the sides and one end have been reduced. And 2) ANTIQUE AFGHAN BOKHARA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3' x 5'. This rug has a salmon red field with brown-black and beige colored guls of two different sizes alternating with each other in rows over the field of the rug. There are six rows of sawtooths and barber pole designs that make up the borders of the rug. The condition is worn but still usable. CONDITION: Please see body of description. |
