1201 Click for larger picture CIVIL WAR PRESENTATION CAVALRY OFFICERS SWORD: Ornate presentation quality 1860 cavalry officers sword with brass hilt with traces of gilt remaining in protected areas, engraved on side of knuckle guard ''W.T.T. MD.'' of the period, unidentified Maryland officer worthy of further research. Rayskin grip with partial twist wire present. 35 1/4'' German import Schnitzler & Kirschbaum double fuller blade with military motif etching. All metal japanned black scabbard with engraved brass mounts, overall measures 41 3/4'' long.
CONDITION: Age staining to blade, pitting to scabbard.

1202 Click for larger picture COLT MODEL 1861 SPECIAL MUSKET WITH INLAY: 40'' .58 caliber round barrel, single shot percussion rifle with walnut full stock. Marked with typical Colt markings on lockplate and dated 1863, double inspector cartouche left side stock, stamp US top of butt plate. 2 unusual mother of pearl inlays, added after the war, one right side stock with plaque reading Souvenir, the other top of stock with shield. Barrel marked Steel with inspector's marks. Overall 56 1/4'' long.

1207A Click for larger picture APPROX 20-30 YR OLD INDIAN WOOL RUG, 9'2'' x 12'2'': This room size rug has a modern looking design and color palette while some of the motifs have their roots in old Chinese and Celtic designs. The blue/black ground has a smaller repeating pattern that forms grid work covering the interior of the rug. Here and there are square or rectangular panels that have pale aqua blue or soft salmon pink as their predominate colors. The smaller panels have oral designs while the largest panel has a sort of eternal knot repeated in four squares. The border has a more traditional pattern of alternating palmettes, flowers and leaves with vines.
CONDITION: There is some soil, slight stains and color run.

1218 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-35 YR OLD INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5'11'' x 9'1'': This rug has an overall pattern that is like a modified ''Herati'' design. The red central medallion has small spandrels dangling from each end that go onto the blue/green field. The small motifs that cover the field are done in colors of white, red, blue, and pink. The corners and edge of the field have a red ground that matches the central medallion. Multiple borders complete the design of the rug. This rug would be serviceable and good looking in an office or a den. Condition is good. 150

1244 Click for larger picture WWII SHIN GUNTO ARSENAL BLADE JAPANESE SWORD: Tang signed Kanetaka or Kaneuji, WWII era blade, Shin Gunto officer mounts. Cloth ito, rayskin same, 2 floral metal menuki. Wood saya has been painted gold at some point. Straight temper 27'' blade to top of habaki, overall 38 3/4'' long in saya. Sold with photocopy of appraisal from Robert Benson.
CONDITION: Blade has been scratched and sandpapered, dented habaki, saya with splits and missing original leather. Sold as-is.

1244A Click for larger picture APPROX 20-40 YR OLD TIBETAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 2'7'' x 9': This pale blue and gray runner has an open field framed by simple line and circle motifs that form the borders of the rug. This style of rug goes well with modern as we'll as primitive decorating because of its simplicity.
CONDITION: There is some shading and surface soil but generally good.
