CONDITION: 1) Minor chips to base, leaves and flower petals. Professional repair to man's feet. 2) No conditions issues noted.

The same design is repeated in the central medallion, the field, and the corners but in colorways that go with background color. The intricate pattern and the good colors make this a very attractive rug. 175
1256 Click for larger picture APPROX. 20-40 YR OLD PAKISTANI BOKHARA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'3'' X 10'4'': The red ground of this traditionally patterned Bokhara is covered with alternating rows of two patterns of ''guls.'' One square-ish with a white ground and a smaller ''snowflake'' and one beige and red guard borders edge the field at the red ground main. border the has repeating ''guls'' in squares.
CONDITION: Condition: Good for age.

CONDITION: Uneven finish to base. The occasional cracked panel may be discovered.

Cast iron base with dwarves holding hammers in medallion decoration marked J Knierim, Frankfurt and Electha, all on castors. Overall measures 40 1/2'' h. x 29'' x 16 3/4''.
CONDITION: Currently working, wear consistent with age and use.

1269 Click for larger picture APPROX. 20-35 YR OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 7'11'' X 11'2'': This rug has two different patterns in a dark palette. The center medallion and the corners of the field have small red, pink, and black diamonds that alternate with smaller white, pink, and black circles on a striped background in the same colors. The rest of the field has a repeating snowflake look pattern on a dark red field. The white guard borders and the brighter red main border are the only lighter colored areas of the rug.
CONDITION: Condition: Good with some color change visible in some parts of main field

1279 Click for larger picture APPROX25-45 YR OLD PERSIAN VILLAGE HAND KNOTTED WOOL CARPET, 4'7'' X 11' 4'': This rug has a dark, masculine palette with three large medallions with a mostly dark blue ground and can be used as a corridor or gallery rug. The other colors used in the designs include green, red, orange, rust, and white. The blue has lots of abrash or color change. Pairs of ''botehs'' or paisleys face each other from the sides of the field. Dark blue guard borders and a red ground main border complete the design.
CONDITION: Sides are a little crooked.

1280 Click for larger picture SETHER, Gulbrand, (Norwegian, 1869-1941): Snowy Landscape with Blacksmith Shop and the Fires Aglow, Oil/Canvas, 20.25'' x 37'', signed lower right, unframed. Born in Norway, Sether initially worked on Norwegian ships traveling as far as the Arctic Circle. Eventually he began studying art in Norway and then emigrated to the US living in Chicago's Humboldt Park area with other Norwegian-Americans.
CONDITION: Minor stretcher bar wear, indentation in lower right quarter and in margin, several punctures in lower right quadrant, scattered craquelure, needs cleaning, sold as is.
