TARKAY, Itzchak Isaac, (Yugoslavian, 1935-2012): ''The Window #15'', Watercolor, 18'' x 18'', signed lower right, framed, 31'' x 31''. Sold with Park West Certificate of Authenticity. At the age of nine, Tarkay was sent to a Nazi concentration camp. After his release, he developed an interest in art. He and his family moved to Israel in 1949 and in 1951 he started studying art on scholarship until financial restrictions required him to leave school. Eventually he graduated from the Avni Institute of Art. Tarkay has exhibited extensively and his works can be found in many public and private collections. | 1100 |

HEUZE, Edmund, (French, 1883-1967): 2 Paintings to include 1) ''Danseuse'', Watercolor, 12'' x 8'', signed lower left, titled verso, ''Loi Fuller Music Hall, 1920'', framed, 16.25'' x 12.5''; 2) ''Portrait of a Military Officer'', Watercolor, 12'' x 9'', signed lower right, framed 16.5'' x 13.5''. Heuze was born in Paris but spent most of his life in Montmartre. While studying art, he also danced at the Moulin Rouge to support himself. After WWI he worked as liaison between collectors and artists, such as Picasso, Vlaminck and Valadon, and was eventually appointed artistic director of the galerie Sagot in rue Lafitte.
