1154 Click for larger picture FOUJITA, Leonard Tsuguharu, (Japanese, 1886-1968): ''Mother and Child Portrait'', Color Lithograph, 20.75'' x 15.25'', signed lower right, 67/100 lower left, dedication in the lower margin, framed 30'' x 24.5''. Provenance: Estate of Yves Georges Prade.
CONDITION: Not examined out of frame, some very pale toning, minor handling creases, sold as is.

1154A Click for larger picture FOUJITA, Leonard Tsuguharu, (Japanese, 1886-1968): Nativity Scene with Mary and Infant Christ in the Manger, size with margins 10.625'' x 8.25'', signed in pen lower right and numbered lower left 21/197, unframed. The second etching is the same except it is not signed. Foujita was a French-Japanese artist and spent most of his career in Paris. He associated with artists like Picasso, Braque and Rousseau. As a youth studying art at the Imperial School of Fine Art in Japan, the Japanese Emperor acquired one of his paintings. In 1917 he had his first exhibition in Paris and within several years was exhibiting at the Fauves Salon d'Automne. Provenance: Estate of Yves Georges Prade.
CONDITION: Even overall toning, scattered foxing, under glass, sold as is.

Poucette was a painter and writer in Paris. She began selling her paintings on the street when she was only 16 and wrote her first novel at age 20. She is well-known for her brightly colored paintings of horses, elephants and other animals. Provenance: Estate of Yves Georges Prade 100
