1201 Click for larger picture RARE 1861 FLORIDA CONFEDERATE REGISTER OF VESSELS: An exceedingly rare document from the Confederate State of America, issued shortly after the Civil War began. While we have seen a few other examples from other states, we have never seen a Florida example before. This document registers the Jefe? Richards, a 2 mast ship, owned by 3 partners in Apalachicola, Florida as a Confederate Citizen owned vessel, dated September 17, 1861. Sight size 17 1/2'' x 15'', framed and matted 22 1/2'' x 20 1/4''.
CONDITION: Toning, visible fold lines, not examined out of frame.

Mahogany veneer case, bonnet with broken arch swan neck pediment, brass accents and spire finials, string inlay, turned full columns. Case with shaped blind door, turned canted middle edges, string inlay. Painted metal dial marked S. Samuels, South, painting of boy with knife and walking stick, Roman numerals, floral corners. Bell strike, unmarked movement. Overall measures 87 1/2''. h. x 19 1/2'' x 9 1/2''.
CONDITION: Missing several pieces of trim, veneer chips, missing second hand, currently not running. Sold as-is.

1222 Click for larger picture APPROX. 15-25 YR OLD PAK - PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'4'' x 10'4'': This rug has a pale ivory field with a central medallion within a medallion in colors of red, ivory, pale gold, pale green, and blues in a soft diamond shape. The four corners of the field are like the pale gold outer portion of the central medallion with the addition of a vase. The rest of the field is covered by feathery large leaves and smaller palmettes linked by vines. 550

''Born in London to a family of painters, Stanley Hayter chose instead to study geology and chemistry and then worked for a Persian Gulf oil company. However, he contracted malaria and returned to London to recover, and then moved to Paris in 1926 to study at the Academie Julian. In 1933 in Paris, he established his own studio, the Atelier 17.
