NATIVE AMERICAN WINDWALKER CARVED STRAWBERRY QUARTZ: Native American Carved, Variegated Pink Strawberry Quartz Windwalker. Sioux quartz is another name for the stone as it is generally found in the Dakota's and South Eastern Minnesota, which is where the Sioux Indians could be found. The Sioux had used this quartz more commonly for pipes, as it a softer mineral. There is a maker's mark inscribed in a circle on the back right. Approx. 16.5'' h x 19'' l x 6'' w. CONDITION: Wear consistent with age and use. |

This picture is illustrated in Butler's book, ''Timeless Echoes'', on page 114. The painting was acquired by the current owner from a life long acquaintance of Butler's, the granddaughter of the librarian who gave Butler money for his first paints in his formative years. The original letter from the granddaughter will be included with the sale of this painting. She dates the painting to be from 1970, acquired by her father and gifted to her.
