MODERN KASHMIRI HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3' 5'' x 5' 8'': This rug has a soft palette with a muted pinkish-red field that is a prayer rug motif. The asymmetrical field consists of a fancy vase of flowers in the center of the rug pointing to the top of the niche. There are sprays of flowers on each side of this motif and more elaborate floral patterns at the base of the field as well as in the corners at the top of the niche. The main border has a dark background covered by alternating sprays of different flowers on vines. And here and there are birds inserted in to design.
