ANTIQUE CAUCASIAN KAZAK HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4'4'' x 6'3'': This vintage Caucasian rug has a geometric design composed of three rectangular medallions outlined in shades of brown with large central designs that are almost like a variant of a pinwheel. Within the medallions and on the top and bottom of them are ram's horn motifs drawn singly or doubly in blue and/or brown. The main border has a blue field and has guard borders on either side. The reddish rust field is variegated and there is some abrash also to be found. This is a very interesting rug. CONDITION: Uniformly low and worn with some color sand areas enhanced by dyeing. Also there is some loss at the corners of the rug. |

SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5' x 6' 10'': This beautiful Persian Village rug has an asymmetrical design field that consists of a vase holding a flowering ''tree of life'' that has two pairs of birds either perched or flanking the tree. There are also two green cypress trees, one on either side near the base of the tree. The flowers in the tree are of different types, sizes, and colors and rest on a tomato red ground. At the top of the field the corners are a medium blue, a color that is also present in the vase. The colors in this rug include two shades of green, two shades of blue, red, yellow, white, brown, orange, and black. The colors and the design of this rug were used to create an outstanding piece of art. Condition is good. | 750 |
