HAND KNOTTED SILK RUG, 3'1'' x 5'1'': It is very finely knotted in a prayer rug format with an asymmetrical design that consists of a large dark colored vase and base at one end with sprays of flowers and a stylized tree of life coming from it. There are flowers, palmettes, and little birds introduced here and there on a pale almost golden yellow field. The birds and flowers are done in colors of blue, turquoise, beige, and cranberry highlights. There is a cranberry border and the last guard border has an alternating design of birds that looks like they are plucking at little flowers or grapes, interspersed by other flowers all attached by a vine. This is most certainly a very finely woven work of art. 35-45 years old. | 850 | |
