Handsome two-tone silver dial with radial Arabic numerals, luminous baton hands, and date aperture at three. Automatic movement. All correct markings on watch face and back. IGOR CARL FABERGE FIREBIRD STERLING MUSICAL EGG: The Faberge Firebird Egg from the House of Igor Carl Faberge produced by the Franklin Mint, has a blue guilloche enamel ground with an overlay of gold tone branches with inset red jewels. The egg stands on a .925 sterling base with gold overlay, which has four scrolling feat with faux pearls on either side of each. The egg opens to a gold tone phoenix while playing music and is lined in red velvet. The underside is marked ''The Faberge Firebird Egg, House of Igor Carl Faberge, c. .87 FM, .925 Sterling''. 6.25'' H X 4'' Wide. Purchased by the consignor in 1988 from the Franklin Mint. FABERGE PINE CONE ELEPHANT EGG #175: A Limoges porcelain Egg hand painted in relief to reproduce the appearance of the original Kelkh Pine Cone Egg made for Varvara Bazenov Kelkh by The House of Faberge, in 1900. Open, it displays an elephant paved in crystals with its trunk raised. The elephant and plinth on which it rests are plated in 24 karat gold and the interior of the egg is painted in gold. The clasp is the Romanov double headed eagle. The plinth carries the name Faberge, impressed, and the number of the Egg. Invoice dated 1/13/14 shows original purchase price of $395. | 375 |

ANTIQUE KAZAK CAUCASIAN PRAYER RUG WITH DATE CARTOUCHE, 3'3'' X 5'4'': This little gem is a real collectors piece. It has 2 date cartouches, the clearest one has the Islamic calendar date of 1296 which is 1878 in our calendar. The inclusion of the dates in the rug signifies that it was woven to commemorate a special event in the life of the weaver. The simplicity of the design also points to this being quite an old rug. The red field has only three motifs besides the two white date cartouches and is outlined by a green inner border. The outer borders all have simple traditional designs that are found on Kazaks. The red weft is another indicator of its origin. CONDITION: This rug has been professionally tucked or reduced on one side, probably to get rid of a tension bump that was there from the beginning. This doesn't reduce the value of the rug because it improved its look and usability. |
