MARTINO, Giovanni, (American, 1908-97): ''Gloucester Docks'', Oil/Canvas, 20'' x 24'', signed lower right, signed on the stretcher verso dated 1929, framed, 25.5'' x 29.5''. Martino was one of seven children, all of whom became painters and were under the tutelage of their eldest brother Frank. Giovanni also studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Spring Garden Institute. He is the recipient of over 100 awards and honors. STRISIK, Paul, (American, 1918-98): New England Harbor Dockside Scene, Oil/Canvas, 20'' x 24'', signed lower right, framed, 26'' x 30''. Strisik eventually lived in Rockport, Mass where he became known for his landscape painting. After serving in WWII in the Navy he studied at the Art Students League in New York City. Over the course of his career, he won 185 awards including 16 gold medals. He was very willing to share his talents with young artists and he wrote several books.
