Born in Norway, Sether initially worked on Norwegian ships traveling as far as the Arctic Circle. Eventually he began studying art in Norway and then emigrated to the US living in Chicago's Humboldt Park area with other Norwegian-Americans. CONDITION: Minor stretcher bar wear, indentation in lower right quarter and in margin, several punctures in lower right quadrant, scattered craquelure, needs cleaning, sold as is. |
