Heavily varnished full stock with starburst and diamond inlay decoration, brass furniture and patchbox. Illegibly signed percussion lock, currently functioning. Overall measures 51 1/4'' long. At either end of the medallion spandrels are suspended onto the brick red field. The four corners of the field are white with partial medallions in red and blue. Sprays of flowers and leaves sprout from various points around the medallion onto the field. The red, ivory, and blue corners mimic a section of the medallion. The balance of the field is covered with more sprays of flowers and leaves and the red ground main border is flanked with blue and red guard borders. CONDITION: There is some moth damage in the sides where heavy furniture stood. |
