1234 Click for larger picture MARTIN, Fletcher, (American, 1904-1979): Nude Drawing, 1946, inscribed to a ''Reeves'', sight size 19.5'' x 14.5'', modern chrome frame 20.25'' x 15.25''. Growing up in a small western town in California, Martin drew inspiration from circus posters and local amateur painters. Under the tutelage of Mexican painter David Alfaro Siqueiros, he went on to begin painting murals at local federal buildings, which commonly portrayed the strife and dangers of the local mining industries.
CONDITION: Old mat burn visible.

CONDITION: Needs cleaning, frame shows wear, some flecks along edge, sold as is.

Macklin began devoting his full attention to painting in the 1990's, and since then has commanded $4,000 to $18,000 per original, as well as releasing limited editions, lithographs, posters and Giclee print editions. He has done commissions for many corporations and individuals including The International Herald Tribune, the Ron Jon/National Kidney Foundation Pro-Am Surfing Festival, the Quicksilver Waimea Bay Contest poster.
