Known for his street scenes of various Polish cities, Stanislaw attended the School of Art Decoration and Art Paintings as well as the Academy of Art in Warsaw to study his craft. Even though he was raised by French parents and inspired by such French artists as Toulouse-Loutrec and Matisse, Maimon was educated at Israel's most prestigious academy for the arts, Avni Institute of Fine Art. In 1980, Maimon turned his focus to teaching and started instructing at the School of Visual Arts and the Kaye Art Academy in Beer-Sheeba. | 2700 |

MARCHIORI, Carlo, (Italian, 20th Century ): Hand painted shaped tri-fold screen or wall hanging, decorated with provincial maiden holding a jug of water and basket of chickens on a pole, dog running along side. Signed Carlo Marchiori and dated 1992, center panel 51 1/2'' h. x 16''. Italian born, Carlo Marchiori studied classic art and academic design in Padua and Venice. At the age of eighteen, he left Italy to live in Canada where he worked as illustrator and film animator for C.B.C. Television and the National Film Board of Canada. In 1967 he was nominated for an Academy Award for an animated short but eventually abandoned filmmaking and advertising for mural paintings. CONDITION: Scratches, abrasions and foxing, sold as-is. |
