1160 Click for larger picture DICKENSON, Sidney, (American, 1890-1980): Self Portrait, Oil/Canvas, 24'' x 20'', signed lower right, Grand Central Art Galleries label affixed verso along with stencil on the canvas, custom frame 31.5'' x 27.5''. Growing up a son of a congressional minister, Dickenson knew at an early age that he wanted to be a painter and would spend his days during his father's sermons sketching. While in New York, he was able to study under famed painter, William Merritt Chase.
CONDITION: Stretcher bar wear, minor craquelure, frame shows wear, sold as is.
