1119 Click for larger picture APPROX. 35-55 YR OLD PERSIAN SAROUK? HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'6'' x 12'5'': This pretty rug has a blue weft but a coarser weave than is usually found on Sarouks. However the good clear colors and unusual design of the rug still make this very appealing. Different repeating patterns fall into three rows on the white field. Very large multi bracket leaves are below a scroll work enclosed smaller design that looks like a shield. These designs are done in colors of pale blue, red, dark blue, orange, and yellow. The wide blue main border frames the white field and completes the rug.
CONDITION: There are some visible stains on the white field but they don't detract too much from the overall look of the rug. Still a good cleaning would make it even better.

Glass shelves either side. 4 door base, right side with 2 drawers and shelf, left side open for plumbing and shelf. Overall measures approx. 95'' h. x 92'' x 31 1/4''.
CONDITION: Currently no upper side doors, only very tiny holes remain from mounting brackets.

The medallion and other featured motifs in the rug are outlined with a pretty yellow color. Garlands of flowers loop out from the sides and ends of the field to decorate more of the ivory central ground. The soft blue/grey main border is also bordered by yellow and beige outlines and a delicate garland of flowers goes all the way around the rug. Condition is good. 1200

1134 Click for larger picture APPROX. 20-40 YR OLD CHINESE NEEDLEPOINT AUBUSSON HAND MADE WOOL RUG, 9' x 12'1'': This rug has a very French Aubusson design and colors. A spray of flowers and leaves form the center of the field and garlands of the same flowers go around the center in an oval shape. A second oval is formed with a band of bows with ribbons the same color as the flowers. The outer oval band and the borders of the rug use stronger colors than the pastel pinks, greens, and blues found in the center. Yellows and browns come into play here. The corners have an interesting composition of music and musical instruments to complete the design. Condition is good. 200

1138 Click for larger picture PLATINUM, OPAL EMERALD AND DIAMOND RING: Custom platinum ring centering an opal cabochon, approx 11mm x 14mm., with a rich play of color in a flame pattern. The halo is a ring of diamonds alternating with African emeralds. Size 7.
CONDITION: The opal does have a black enamel finish on the underside.

1139 Click for larger picture APPROX. 25-45 YR OLD TURKISH HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4' x 6'2'': This rug has an unusual pattern of alternating bands of different size botehs, or paisleys done in colors that include oranges, beige, black, white, red, and yellow. The main border also has a design of repeating paisleys. There is an apron, or extra border, at each end with an archaic design that looks like a series of shields.
CONDITION: Some surface soil and the sides need some work.

1142 Click for larger picture ANTIQUE NW PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'2'' x 7'9'': This old timer has a small repeating design, tomato red in color, which looks like moths/butterflies on a brown black field. There are also two charming little figures of a child on the edge of the field. There is a dramatic field color change at one end from the dark ground to a light shade of brown. This type of work is often found in tribal or village rugs and can add to the charm of the rug. The white guard borders frame both the field and the tomato red ground main border with a contrast that livens up the whole rug.
CONDITION: There are visible areas of wear and the sides and one end needs some work. Not bad for the age of the rug.

1150 Click for larger picture CARR, Emily, (Canadian, 1871-1945): Wilderness Landscape by Stream, Oil/Canvasboard, 10'' x 14'', signed lower right M.E. Carr, framed, 15'' x 19''. Carr is one of Canada's leading artist's and who worked with an Expressionist painting style on native subject matter. This was considered ground-breaking because it focused on capturing images of the vanishing First Nations culture of British Columbia. She studied art and was an independent spirit in an era where that was not expected of a woman.
CONDITION: Small abrasion in upper left corner, minor craquelure, needs cleaning, sold as is.
