Mouly was a protege of Fernand Leger but mostly known as the last living student of Pablo Picasso. His work is highly influenced by the works of Braque, Picasso and Matisse. Mouly studied at the French Academies in 1935 then went on to have his first solo exhibition at the Libraire Bergamasque in Paris, France in 1949. His work is still displayed in several prominent European galleries, including, Centre Georges Pompidou and Musee Nationale d'art Modern. On June 22nd, 1911, King George V and Queen Mary were coronated in a grand ceremony at Westminster Abbey. The coronation included an homage to their son, The Prince of Wales who would later become King Edward VIII and the Duke of Windsor. CONDITION: Photographic print has major issues including insect damage, missing paper, toning, and the frame has been dropped on the left side with obvious dent and disfiguration, rosettes missing in four corners and the top, other scattered abrasions and pitting, sold as is. |
