CHARMING 14K VICTORIAN MESH SLIDE BRACELET WITH TASSELS: 14K yellow gold antique slide bracelet from the Victorian era of the late 1800s. A supple mesh bracelet culminating in fringe tassel, adjusts in length by passing under a beautiful slide/clasp crowned by a single pearl. Measures 1'' inch wide and adjusts to 8.5'' inches long (mesh portion only). Marked 14 and weight is 64.2 grams. As a sovereign and a member of the Knights of the Garter, Queen Victoria could not imagine anyone wearing a garter bracelet on her legs so she wore the garter on her arm. At the age of nine, Tarkay was sent to a Nazi concentration camp. After his release, he developed an interest in art. He and his family moved to Israel in 1949 and in 1951 he started studying art on scholarship until financial restrictions required him to leave school. AFTER ANTOINE GAUDREAU LOUIS XV STYLE MOUNTED COMMODE: An exquisite nearly identical copy of the rococo commode commissioned by Louis XV to Antoine Gaudreau to house his coin collection in Le Cabinet de Roi, Versailles. Over the top gold decorated metal mounts to include ram heads, center masqueron, vignettes in medallions, foliate and floral scrolls. Shaped marble top and front, parquetry inlaid fruit wood. 2 locking doors open to reveal 2 drawers either side. Overall measures 37 3/4'' h. x 70 3/4'' x 25 1/2''. CONDITION: Multiple repairs to marble top, slight imperfections to veneer on right side. Frass found in drawer. No visible or structural damage. Heuze was born in Paris but spent most of his life in Montmartre. While studying art, he also danced at the Moulin Rouge to support himself.
