McLEOD, J., (Jamaican, 20th C): ''Enciente'', Carved Native Guango Wood, signed lower left thigh and under the base ''J. McLeod'', dated 1965 Jamaica, 23''h, sits on a painted wood plinth, 26'' overall. This artist has had a similar carving on exhibit at the National Gallery of Jamaica. Portrait of a Woman, Oil/Canvas. A household name in the 1920's, Binder came to fame with his work ''The Old Talmudist''. APPROX. 20-35 YR OLD PAKISTANI BOKHARA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4'2'' x 5'8'': This mostly red and blue rug has an interesting design. The blue field is divided into panels by red and black bands that cross the field. In the center and on the sides of the bands are red panels with a whole or half white and black ''gul''. A different ''gul'' pattern is found on each of the blue panels. The borders are more typical with multiple small borders and an apron, or extra border at each end. Condition is good. | 125 |
