APPROX 75-100 YR OLD PERSIAN FEREGHAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4' 6'' x 6' 4'': This rug has a dramatic tribal look with a medium blue colored field, it's large diamond shaped medallion in orange, red, and blue with its huge spandrels suspended at either end. There are four lions with the raised sword and the sun on their back, I think the symbol for the shahs and for Persia/Iran. The four corners of the field have a rust red ground that is covered by rows of repeating flower forms. CONDITION: Some visible wear and some color run. |
