ALTMAN, Harold, (American, 1924-2003): 4 Piece Print lot to Include: 1) Figure Emerging form a Gathering at an Outdoor Cafe, Lithograph, 5 1/8'' x 6.75'', pencil signed lower right, framed, 10.5'' x 12'', signed in the plate and dated 1957, an early work; 2) Luxemborg 1980, Etching, sight size 9.25'' x 6.5'', pencil signed lower right, titled in lower margin and numbered 70/200, framed, 18'' x14'', Merrill Chase Galleries Label affixed verso; 3) ''Bench 2'', Lithograph, 26.5'' x 19.5'', pencil signed lower right, titled in margin and numbered 48/185, enclosed in plastic, unframed; 4) ''Central Park South'', Lithograph, 30'' x 21.5'', pencil signed lower right, titled in margin and marked artist's proof lower left, encased in plastic with cardboard backing, unframed. Altman was a painter, teacher and etcher who spent 4 months each year in Paris where his lithographs were printed at Atelier Desjoberts. He is represented in almost every significant collection in the world as well as in numerous museums and galleries. CONDITION: 3) ''Bench 2'' exhibits uneven toning mostly in upper third of print with a circular spot likely from a sticker preventing even light and discoloring the print. 4) ''Central Park South'', lower corners are bent, minor soiling in margins, sold as is. |

TARKAY, Itzchak Isaac, (Yugoslavian, 1935-2012): Seated Woman with Large Blue Hat, Serigraph, sight size 37'' x 30.5'', pencil signed lower right, numbered EA 27/50 lower left, heavy custom frame, 50'' x 42''. At the age of nine, Tarkay was sent to a Nazi concentration camp. After his release, he developed an interest in art. He and his family moved to Israel in 1949 and in 1951 he started studying art on scholarship until financial restrictions required him to leave school. Eventually he graduated from the Avni Institute of Art. Tarkay has exhibited extensively and his works can be found in many public and private collections. | 1200 |

FOLON, Jean-Michel, (Belgian, 1934-2005): Abstract Surreal Etching, 19.75'' x 25.5'' with margins, pencil signed lower right and numbered EA VII/X, blind stamp lower left corner, framed, 31'' x 37''. Over the years Folon's work experimented with different techniques - watercolor, etching, silkscreen, illustrations, mosaics, stained glass, - which showed the diversity of his art. In the '80s he created his first sculptures from wood. He continued sculpting moving on to the use of clay, plaster, bronze and marble, while continuing to paint. Folons friends were among the rich and powerful including Jacques Chirac and Prince Albert II. CONDITION: Float mounted, some pale scattered minor discoloration, minor handling creases, not examined out of frame, frame shows wear, sold as is. |
