1157 | SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN HERIZ HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 10' x 17' 6'': This palace sized Heriz has a tomato red field with a large red and black ground central geometric shaped medallion that is outlined in white in the central red part and pale blue around the black outer medallion. Large spandrels that look like a cross between a palmette leaf and a water bug extend from either end of the medallion. There are large white corners to the central field that each has a quarter lobe of the central medallion within them. Both the red and white areas of the field are covered with very large leaves and smaller flowers joined by vines that are executed in reds, whites, black, yellow, and blues. Although this rug is not of the finest weave, it is very striking in its overall impact. Condition is good. | 1200 | |

The stand is attached to a gilded brass base with embossed decoration, and the lamps have been electrified. The lanterns have been hand painted on a yellow ground with blue borders, each with six round medallions containing flowers and precious objects.
