Obituary affixed verso, ''Dr. Richter, surgeon and Doctor dies. Dr. Julius Richter, 97, a Buffalo surgeon whose oil paintings were exhibited at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. He was the founder and past president of the Buffalo Surgical Society and the National Board of Surgery. As a painter his work was exhibited in many national shows, served on the Council of the Buffalo Society of Artists and was the member of the Buffalo Print Club. He also was a director of Lafayette General Hospital, the Erie County Medical Society and the Buffalo Academy of medicine.'' Signed artist proof. Woodbury established himself as not only an artist but a leader at the very young age of 16, when he became a member of the Lynn Beach Painters. Woodbury was one of the most influential artists in the Boston and Maine areas, he taught over 4000 students and exhibited in over 100 exhibitions. GREGORY, Dorothy Lake, (American, 1893-1970): ''The House of Seven Gables- Salem, Mass'', Lithograph, sight size 9.25'' x 10'', pencil signed edition of 20 lower right, titled lower left in pencil, black frame, 16'' x 18.5''. Gregory showed artistic talent early. She did professional line drawings of children for a local newspaper and at 17, their father took her and her brother to Europe to be exposed to classic art and music. Upon her return Pratt enrolled at the Pratt Institute in New York and studied at the Art Student League with Robert Henri, meeting her future husband there. Dorothy demonstrated a range of styles and mediums and illustrated over 20 books. Gregory exhibited at many prestigious places, and her work can be found in the permanent collections of the Boston Museum of Fine Art and the Congressional Library.
