Favrile, 160. Base measures 4 1/2'' h. x 5 1/2''. From a direct descendant of Rene Lothier, metalsmith for Tiffany Furnaces.
CONDITION: There is a chip to the base of the vase. Slight bend to base.

1007 Click for larger picture IMPORTANT 18K GOLD E. HOWARD POCKET WATCH: Mid 19th Century production, serial number 4550, size 18, 18kt engraved gold case. Watch engraved ''Presented to J. W. Ross by his father and to Tenney Ross by his father and to Lewis Tenney Ross by his father and to Tenney Kutz Ross by his father on their 21st birthdays''. The watch was originally owned by Lewis Winans Ross (December 8, 1812 - October 29, 1895) who was an Illinois attorney, merchant, and U.S. Representative from Illinois' 9th Congressional District and was given to his son John Wesley Ross (1841-1902), 1 of 12 children and also a distinguished attorney who served as President of the Washington, D. C., Board of Commissioners who in turn gave it to his oldest son Col. Tenney Ross who served as U.S. Army Chief of Staff, 79th Division, in World War I who then gave the watch to his son Lieutenant Tenney Kutz Ross who died in battle in the Korean War. Watch was finally given to Margaret Ross Karrick Seabloom by her mother in 1988.
CONDITION: Currently not running, minor dings to case.

CONDITION: Split to top of marquetry panel, currently working, however not guaranteed to continue.

CONDITION: Support ring for shade de-attached, bends to shade. Could use a proper cleaning and restoration, visible glass appears to have no chips or cracks. Sold as-is.

1034 Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE AFGHAN BOKHARA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'8'' x 9'8'': This rug has traditional colors and design with large eight sided ''guls'' that meet end to end and form three rows down the field alternating with smaller snowflake like diamond shaped ''guls'' that fit in between the rows. The colors in the rug include red, shades of blue, and orange. Afghan Bokhara rugs of this age are different from the Pakistani Bokhara in that they retain a real tribal feel as if they were not woven for the market.

Quizet was an important member of the school of Montmarte, referring to area of Montmartre versus the school of. The artists lived here before the war and tended to be Jewish immigrants who lived a Bohemian lifestyle. Quizet is linked to Utrillo, Leprin and Valtat.

1063 Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE CHINESE NICHOLS PALATIAL ROOM SIZE CARPET, 11'10'' x 14'10'': This hand knotted wool rug has a rich colored burgundy open field with a large central medallion done in pastel colors that are also found in the border and the sprays of flowers that come into the field from the border. The contrast of colors gives the rug a dramatic look.
CONDITION: There are some slight stains and there are two slits found on one side that need to be repaired again. They don't detract too much from the look of the rug and will be undetectable when they are professionally repaired.

Yoshida was a leader in the new print movement (shin hanga) and was the only one to sign and title his work in English. He worked as a painter until his 40s when he became interested in woodblocks. He worked with Watanabe for a few years and became very involved in the printing process. Eventually he started his own print shop. Yoshida was an avid mountain climber and became known for his Alpine scenes.

1119 Click for larger picture APPROX. 35-55 YR OLD PERSIAN SAROUK? HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'6'' x 12'5'': This pretty rug has a blue weft but a coarser weave than is usually found on Sarouks. However the good clear colors and unusual design of the rug still make this very appealing. Different repeating patterns fall into three rows on the white field. Very large multi bracket leaves are below a scroll work enclosed smaller design that looks like a shield. These designs are done in colors of pale blue, red, dark blue, orange, and yellow. The wide blue main border frames the white field and completes the rug.
CONDITION: There are some visible stains on the white field but they don't detract too much from the overall look of the rug. Still a good cleaning would make it even better.

1142 Click for larger picture ANTIQUE NW PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'2'' x 7'9'': This old timer has a small repeating design, tomato red in color, which looks like moths/butterflies on a brown black field. There are also two charming little figures of a child on the edge of the field. There is a dramatic field color change at one end from the dark ground to a light shade of brown. This type of work is often found in tribal or village rugs and can add to the charm of the rug. The white guard borders frame both the field and the tomato red ground main border with a contrast that livens up the whole rug.
CONDITION: There are visible areas of wear and the sides and one end needs some work. Not bad for the age of the rug.

Over the rest of the field are delicately drawn flowers and leaves and vines done in the same soft colors. The white accents in the rug which especially stand out in the central medallion are silk highlights. The difference in the texture and the sheen of the silk add to the interest of this rug. The grey/blue guard borders, the rose/pink corners of the field and the main border complete the soft charm of this rug.
CONDITION: There is some shading and surface soiling but condition is mostly good.

The flowering branches bend back down towards the bottom of the field. The branches are black outlines and the flowers come in different colors and rest on a white field. The corners at the top of the mihrab have a white field with yellow and red flowers surrounded by a pale green border. The outer borders consist of two yellow ground guard borders around a rust orange main border that is filled with various types of flowers.
CONDITION: There is some crushing of the pile and surface soil. A good cleaning would help.

The three dancers are done in colors of black, red, and white as are the arrows, some of which they hold, some stand free on either side of the dancers. The natural mottled beige field is bordered by a white then a black band. Condition is good with some surface soiling. 2) Modern Corn Dancers, or Yei Navajo rug, 2`5'' x 2`8'', with unusual palette for an Indian rug. A pale orange field with a deeper orange border and dancers in shades of blue, white, and black are found with short white arrows on this newer version. Condition is good. 3) Semi-Antique small Navajo probably used as a saddle blanket, 1`8'' x 2`, this piece has natural black and beige repeating parallelograms on its white field. Red and black borders are found at each end. Condition is good for its age. Sold with 4) Modern brightly colored flat weave possibly woven by India Indians. 4`1'' x 5`2'' . The colors really stand out on the midnight blue field. The three small borders finish the design.

Matulka was born to a single mom who raised her children in poverty in the Bronx. As a leading modernist, Matulka worked with Stuart Davis to develop a new form of Cubism. In the 1930s he became a WPA mural painter.

1373 Click for larger picture MOULY, Marcel (France, 1918-2008): Interior Tabletop Still Life Scene, Color Lithograph, 30'' x 22'', signed lower right marked, Approved Artist, lower left II/XXX, framed 38'' x 30.25''. Mouly was a protege of Fernand Leger but mostly known as the last living student of Pablo Picasso. His work is highly influenced by the works of Braque, Picasso and Matisse. Mouly studied at the French Academies in 1935 then went on to have his first solo exhibition at the Libraire Bergamasque in Paris, France in 1949. His work is still displayed in several prominent European galleries, including, Centre Georges Pompidou and Musee Nationale d'art Modern.

1380 Click for larger picture LARGE PLANTE MIXED METAL FRAME: Copper, Silver-plate and Possibly Sterling Metals Encasing George and Mary, The Royalty, Photographic Print is of Queen Mary and King George and their coronation in 1911, overall measurement approx. 34'' x 25'', impressed plante marked verso in an old Hollywood Road Gallery, Chelsea label affixed verso, has an easel back, can be hung or displayed on a table. On June 22nd, 1911, King George V and Queen Mary were coronated in a grand ceremony at Westminster Abbey. The coronation included an homage to their son, The Prince of Wales who would later become King Edward VIII and the Duke of Windsor.
CONDITION: Photographic print has major issues including insect damage, missing paper, toning, and the frame has been dropped on the left side with obvious dent and disfiguration, rosettes missing in four corners and the top, other scattered abrasions and pitting, sold as is.
