Hunter went on to become a Rear Admiral in the US Navy. Punch bowl with grape vine motif rim, measures 8 3/4'' h. x 18'' dia., sold with 12 silverplate cups, 4'' h. and 2 smaller cups 2 1/2'' h. Rear Admiral Charles (''Charlie'') Bryan Hunter, USN, Ret., 86, of Gulfport, passed away Feb 24, 2017. Admiral Hunter was born in Jasper, FL and served for over 30 years in the United States Navy. Admiral Hunter graduated from the US Naval Academy in May 1954 and was designated a Naval Aviator in 1956. During his career, he served multiple tours of duty as a pilot in Viet Nam, including Commanding Officer of Attack Squadron EIGHTY-FIVE. He also served as Commanding Officer of the USS El Paso (LKA-117) and Commanding Officer of the USS Saratoga (CV-60). After a tour assigned to US Naval Forces Europe in London, England, Admiral Hunter served as Commander Medium Attack Electronic Warfare Wing at Whidbey Island, Washington. His last duty Station was MacDill AFB, as Chief of Staff, Joint Deployment Agency. Admiral Hunter's decorations include the Navy Cross, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal and Navy Commendation Medal. Thank you for your service Admiral Hunter!!

1011 Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN KASHAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5' X 7': This very finely woven rug shows a real artistry in the use of colors with a well-drawn design. The dark blue oval central medallion has spandrels at each end and palmettes on each side. The medallion really stands out on the red field because of the white and yellow outlining which is also used to define the corners of the field. The rest of the field is covered with sprays of flowers linked to leaves, palmettes, and larger single flowers by sinuous vines. The many shades of blue borders do a beautiful job of completing this lovely rug. This rug was given an appraised value of $12,000 in the 1990's.
CONDITION: This rug is in very good condition.

1012 Click for larger picture APPROX 35-55 YR OLD PERSIAN KASHAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4'7''X 7'1'': This good-looking Kashan rug is finely knotted with a beautiful design and well-chosen colors. Also, it has signature cartouches at each end signifying the maker Vehaden? and the point of origin, Kashan, Persia (Iran). The large central medallion has a red outer area around a white and pale blue center. The red, white, and blue corners of the field are like quarters of the central medallion. The field is covered with mostly individual flowers, some small sprays, some linked by vines. These motifs really stand out on the deep blue field. A wide red ground main border is flanked by pale blue and white guard borders. This rug was appraised at $10,500 several years ago!
CONDITION: This rug is in very good condition.

1013 Click for larger picture APPROX 15-35 YR OLD PAKISTANI PERSIAN KASHAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'2'' X 10'5'': This fine, quality rug has a red field with a large blue central medallion, matching corners and main border also in blue. Larger clusters of flowers or palmettes outline and circle around the medallion. Smaller flowers and leaves fill in around them. Both the guard borders and the main border give the impression that they are red, white, and blue because of the size of some of the motifs in them, but the main border has a blue ground, the guard borders, white or medium blue. This is a beautifully made, well balanced in design and colors rug. Originally appraised at $8,995 in the nineties.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.

1027 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-45 YR OLD PAKISTANI PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4'3'' X 7'5'': This attractive rug has a fine weave that allowed the makers to create a very detailed, intricate pattern. The large red ground around a white ground central medallion is outlined in white on the dark blue field. The field itself looks like a gigantic medallion due to the white outer edge of the field. All parts of the field are covered with a very intricate repeating Herati design that flows from one color ground to another to the blue corners. A wide red ground main border is flanked by white and blue guard borders.
CONDITION: Condition is good with some slight soil, stains.

1039 Click for larger picture ANTIQUE PERSIAN KERMAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 12' X 16': This beautiful antique Persian rug has a deep blue field that is covered with a well-drawn design of leaves, flowers, and palmettes linked by vines. The salmon red, gold, and medium blue motifs on the deep blue of the field look like a richly colored stained-glass window. The main salmon colored border has a very archaic design with a vine that runs alongside the outer edge of the border and then up into the middle with flowers above and below it. There are two inner guard borders in blues and salmon and an old gold outer guard border.
CONDITION: There are some areas of visible wear and newer fringes but not bad for its age.

1044 Click for larger picture APPROX 15-35 YR OLD PAKISTANI PERSIAN TABRIZ HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 9'1'' X 13': This well thought out and beautifully executed Pakistani Persian rug has a red with inner white central medallion with spandrels at either end all resting on a deep blue field. The red, white, and pale blue corners, guard, and main borders really create a lovely frame for the field. All the flowers, leaves, and vines that cover the field and medallion give an impression of lightness and whiteness although red and light blue colors are also presenting the motifs. This attractive rug was valued at $14,980 in the nineties.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.

1046 Click for larger picture INDO-PERSIAN WOOL RUNNER, 3' X 10': Two main patterns alternate down the field of this runner. One with large flowers that form a circle around a central flower head and one with palmettes that are placed facing in then out on the sides to form a more horizontal motif. The black main border and the peach guard borders finish the design of this runner. The burgundy colored field has abrash or color change to red at one end of the runner.
CONDITION: Condition is good but could benefit from a cleaning.
