Reedy developed an aptitude for drawing at a young age and attempting to reproduce the style and subject matter of Remington, he filled the margins of his school books with drawings. Reedy was at home on the Great Plains, the desert country, mountains, and mining and timber camps. He worked as a ranch hand, roamed with the Indians and over time, gained a certain knowledge of western life that he went on to portray. NICOLAIDES, Kimon, (American/French, 1892-1938): Nudes in a Landscape, Watercolor, 12.25'' x 9.5'', signed lower right, framed, 16.5'' x 13.5''. Nicolaides ran away from home to become an artist. He travelled to New York where he studied at the Art Students League with John Sloan and George Bridgman. During WWI, he became one of the first American camouflage artists and also worked on contour maps.
