1131A | APPROX 30 TO 45 YR OLD CHINESE HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 9' x 12': This rug has a classic Chinese / French influence format with a light blue field that has a round central medallion composed of flowers and sculpted Chinese style lattice work. Scattered around the field are ''clouds'' of small floral sprays and more floral designs make up the corners of the field. The main border of the rug has a deeper blue ground on which are found Chinese symbols alternating with more floral sprays. CONDITION: This pretty rug had another rug and pad sitting on top of it and needs to be cleaned and brushed to even up the crushed pile. Also, there are some stains that are here to stay, but they don't detract too much from the overall appearance of the rug. |
